Bees make squad change

The Bracknell Bees have made the difficult choice to make a change to their inaugural 2017-18 National Ice Hockey League Division 1 South (Britton) squad.

Head Coach Scott Spearing has taken the tough decision to release twenty-nine-year-old forward Steve Osman from the Bees squad with immediate effect.

Osman had signed for his first season in the Black, White and Gold of the Bees this off-season and was in his first season for the Berkshire club.   So far this season in sixteen games he had netted five goals and eight assists.

Player/Head Coach Scott Spearing said on the decision:
“Decisions like this are never easy to make and certainly not pleasant to have to do but it is something that I feel I had to do to move the squad forward in an effort to get back on track and ensure we are playing the way that we need to and get the results we want, following a good start to the season.”

He went on to add:
“Steve is a professional, genuine and honest person and you couldn’t hope to meet a nicer guy, he is well liked and respected by players, management and fans alike, which of course made releasing him even more difficult.  I would like to thank him for his time and efforts with us and wish him all the best for the future.”

Steve leaves the Bees with the clubs best wishes for the future and we would like to thank him for his efforts.

Head Coach Scott Spearing is now beginning the process of looking for a suitable additional player to add to the squad and further details will be announced as and when available.
