With Shaun Thompson out injured at present the Bracknell Bees are happy to announce that they have signed, as injury cover, twenty-eight year old forward Carl Thompson.

Carl, Shaun's younger brother, is of course no stranger to The Hive having iced for the Bracknell Hornets for three seasons between 2012 and 2015 before making to move to the Bees at the start of the 2015-16 season.

In two seasons with the Bees Carl iced in over 100 games netting over twenty goals and twenty assists. At the end of last season Carl opted to take some time out from hockey but is looking forward to getting back on the ice in the Black, White and Gold once again.

Thompson started his hockey career with his hometown Slough junior system as an under 16 and under 19 player before making his senior debut for the EPIHL Slough Jets in 2005. From 2005 to 2012 Carl remained with the Slough Jets organisation until joining the Bracknell Hornets of the ENIHL at the start of the 2012/13 season.

With over 250 EPIHL games and over 100 NIHL games already racked up as well as being part of two EPIHL Playoff and one EPIHL Cup winning squads, the young forward already boasts an impressive amount of experience which will be of great value to the Bees line-up

Scott Spearing, Bracknell Bees Head Coach said of the latest addition to the Bees squad:

I'm really pleased to be able to bring Carl in as injury cover as he's such an experienced player.   His hardworking solid defensive game will be perfect for us at the moment. He knows lots of the guys already and his attitude enables him to fit in right away with the team both on and off the ice. "
