The Bracknell Bees are delighted to announce their latest signing to the 2017-18 National Ice Hockey League Division 1 South squad as eighteen-year-old defenceman Luke Jackson joins the club.

Having started as a junior in the Guildford junior system, including the U16 Firestars, the young defenceman made the move to the Bracknell Ice Hockey Club (BIHC) for the start of the 2013-14 season.   That season, and the next, he split his time between the U16 Stingers and U18 Drones before moving out to Canada in time for the start of the 2015-16 season.

For the last two seasons Luke has been a part of the Ontario Hockey Academy at U18 level and in that time racked up over 100 games for the Academy.   Last season, whilst still in Canada, the 6’1” defenceman was also selected to the Great Britain U18 World Championship squad in Division 2A.

The club welcome Luke and look forward to his seeing him patrol the blue-line in the Black, White and Gold of the Bees.

Bracknell Bees Head Coach Scott Spearing said of the addition of the young defenceman to the Bees 2017-18 squad:
“Luke is a big strong lad for his age and I will look to him to use his size and strength this year. He's got a good attitude that he has taken from playing abroad and I hope his game can mature and develop with the right blend of experience around him.“
As in previous seasons we are happy to announce that Luke's jerseys will be available as part of our 2017-18 Own & Loan Jersey scheme (full details available HERE) please email us at with the details of the jersey you are interested in.

All shirts are sold on a first come, first served basis and the process is that you “own” the jersey and “loan” it back to the player for the season to wear. The jersey will then be presented to the owner at the end of the season at a time and date to be arranged.
