Pre-season Weekend Preview

posted 1 Sep 2017, 06:26 by john slater

After a busy and frenetic off-season, the Bees are back in action this coming weekend.   As a pre-season curtain raiser, the Bees are again taking on the Swindon Wildcats in the, now annual, M4 Derby series.

The action gets underway on Saturday evening as the Bees head along the M4 to Swindon and The Link Centre for the first leg of the series (6.15pm faceoff) before the action heads back to The Hive on Sunday for the second leg (6pm faceoff).

This time last year it was the Wildcats that took the series narrowly by two goals having won their home leg of the series 7-2 before losing to the Bees at The Hive on the Sunday 5-2, an aggregate score of nine goals to seven.

With both sides making lots of changes to their line-ups, Swindon with no less than six new players and eight departures and the Bees with ten departures and nine new players, ahead of the exciting new season in the NIHL1 South we are sure that the teams will contest another pair of entertaining matches this weekend with local bragging rights up for grabs.

All of the new faces on both sides should make for an interesting couple of games as the respective Head Coaches look to test out new lines and new tactics ahead of the new season.

Please note that this Bracknell Bees pre-season home game will not be covered by season tickets but despite that the new Bees management and volunteers are urging all Bees fans to attend and show their support ahead of the new season.

We hope to see you all there!
