Weekend Preview - Week 2

Following a road victory over the Milton Keynes Thunder in their only game of the regular season opening weekend the Bracknell Bees face a pair of tough tests this coming weekend.

On Saturday the Bees head north to Peterborough to take on the Phantoms (7pm faceoff) before returning to The Hive on Sunday to face local M3 rivals the Basingstoke Bison (6pm faceoff).

The Peterborough Phantoms were still involved in pre-season action last weekend in which they impressively beat the Swindon Wildcats home and away in two pre-season games.   This weekend will be the Phantoms first regular season match ups of the season.  The Bees will be looking to match last weekend's road result when they head to Cambridgeshire although historically the Phantoms have been somewhat of a bogey team for the Bracknell side, something that the new looks Bees will be looking to consign to history this weekend.

With the Bison picking up a 4-0 victory in their opening league game last Saturday, over the Invicta Dynamos, before a narrow 2-1 loss the following evening away to the Telford Tigers in the National Cup the Bees regular season home opener will not only be a tense local derby but is sure to be a tough test for the Bees against their M3 rivals.  With the two line-ups having no less than thirteen players who have lined up for both the Bees and the Bison in their careers the two sides are very familiar with each other so a match with more than bragging rights to play for is set for Sunday evening at The Hive.

As part of the Bracknell Bees community efforts we are pleased that as part of Sunday evenings match at The Hive we will also be welcoming The Worshipful the Mayor and Mayor’s Consort of the Borough of Bracknell Forest Councillor Mrs Tina McKenzie-Boyle and Bruce McKenzie-Boyle.
