Weekend Preview - Week 20

posted 1 Feb 2018, 10:11 by john slater

For the twentieth weekend of regular season action the Bracknell Bees take on the Invicta Dynamos and Cardiff Fire, in NIHL Division 1 South league matches.   The action gets underway on Saturday 3rd February at The Hive with the Invicta Dynamos visiting for a 6pm faceoff before the Bees head along the M4 on Sunday to Cardiff to face the Fire (6pm faceoff)!

Saturdays home game at The Hive sees the Invicta Dynamos visit The Hive for the second time this season for the final regular season meeting of the two sides.   Back in mid-October when the Dynamos last visited The Hive the Bees sealed a narrow overtime win and since then the two sides have met twice in Gillingham where the sides have spilt the results with one win and one loss.   Games between the sides this season have usually been close, tense affairs and with the Bees looking to get back to winning ways and the Dynamos also looking to improve their results another tight game is likely.

On Sunday the Bees make the trip along the M4 to take on the Cardiff Fire for the last time this season.   In the three games so far this season the Bees have secured all six points with three solid wins however the Fire have added a number of experienced players to their side lately and their performances have also improved and they cannot be taken lightly.

We hope to see a good home support from the Bees fans and look forward to welcoming the Invicta Dynamos fans to The Hive and with that in mind we have some key points for new visiting fans to please note for Bees games:

  • There is an “away” section in Block 2 downstairs where away fans tend to congregate and sit together however you are welcome to purchase tickets through the rink reception on the match night or by calling 01344 789000 for seats in the upper balcony area.   You will need to specify at the time of purchase.
  • Most of the balcony blocks have a large amount of season ticket seats within them that are already reserved so please be aware of this when taking your seat, if you are sitting in a season ticket holder seat without the ticket for that seat you will be asked to move to the correct seat.
  •  It should be noted too, that due to the license held by the rink, that although alcohol is sold in The Bees Knees bar it can only be taken out to the seated balcony area and is not permitted downstairs within the rink at all.
  • The rink is also a no smoking building so you will need to leave by the front door during period breaks if you wish to smoke and you will need your ticket to regain entry.
  • The other general rink rules such as no flash photography, waiting for a break in play before moving around the rink, no foul or abusive language etc.… are, as with all rinks, also in place.
  • Our Supporters Club run a merchandise stall in the main foyer and in the club shop at the front of the rink.   Merchandise, programmes, 50/50 tickets etc. are all available at these two locations on a match nights
