Weekend Preview - Week 7

posted 25 Oct 2017, 09:51 by john slater

The seventh weekend of regular season action for the Bracknell Bees sees them once again with a two game weekend.   It starts on the road away to the Swindon Wildcats on Saturday (6.15pm faceoff) before the team return to The Hive on Sunday to take on the London Raiders (6pm faceoff).

The Bees had two very tight and tense games last weekend, picking up four points, when they narrowly defeated the London Raiders at Lee Valley before an overtime victory over the Invicta Dynamos at The Hive on Sunday.

With only one loss in their last eight games, and that loss having been an overtime loss, the Bees have been on an impressive run of form recently and will want to hopefully continue that this weekend.   Swindon and London will however both present tough opposition for them.

Since facing each other in pre-season action this weekend will be the first time since that the Wildcats and Bees have met.   Since the pre-season encounters, which the teams split with home victories each, the Wildcats have only lost two games so far this season, both in the league, against the Invicta Dynamos and Peterborough Phantoms.   With local bragging rights also up for grabs and the history between the two sides Saturday’s road game is sure to be another hard-fought affair.

Only last weekend the Bees travelled to Lee Valley to face the London Raiders, in the home sides’ only game of the weekend, and came up against a tough opposition who the Bees edged past by the odd goal in eleven.   A physical, tough and hardworking team the Raiders will be tough to break down as they look to avenge last weekend’s defeat.

We hope to see a good home support from the Bees fans and look forward to welcoming the London Raiders fans to The Hive and with that in mind we have some key points for new visiting fans to please note for Bees games:

  • There is an “away” section in Block 2 downstairs where away fans tend to congregate and sit together however you are welcome to purchase tickets through the rink reception on the match night or by calling 01344 789000 for seats in the upper balcony area.   You will need to specify at the time of purchase.
  • Most of the balcony blocks have a large amount of season ticket seats within them that are already reserved so please be aware of this when taking your seat, if you are sitting in a season ticket holder seat without the ticket for that seat you will be asked to move to the correct seat.
  •  It should be noted too, that due to the license held by the rink, that although alcohol is sold in The Bees Knees bar it can only be taken out to the seated balcony area and is not permitted downstairs within the rink at all.
  • The rink is also a no smoking building so you will need to leave by the front door during period breaks if you wish to smoke and you will need your ticket to regain entry.
  • The other general rink rules such as no flash photography, waiting for a break in play before moving around the rink, no foul or abusive language etc.… are, as with all rinks, also in place.
  • Our Supporters Club run a merchandise stall in the main foyer and upstairs at the back of Block 5 (opposite the bar) there is also the Supporters Club shop.   Merchandise, programmes, 50/50 tickets etc. are all available at these two locations on a match nights
